How About a Baby Shower Scrapbook?

Ever since the beginning of photography, there have been family albums. Scrapbooking is becoming an increasingly popular way to personalize family albums. With new trends emerging all the time, it’s easy to see why someone could, and would, throw a baby shower with a theme of scrapbooking. In today’s modern world, many women have become bored with ‘traditional’ baby shower games. It’s human nature to be curious, and people love to see pictures.

With so many different kinds of scrapbooks out there, how do you know which one to choose? The answer is simple, choose one to fit your tastes – whether they be simple designs with traditional pink and blue colors, or extravagant designs with any color of your choosing. Nowadays, there are scrapbooking kits that are geared specifically toward baby showers. These kids are made simple to use and come complete with everything for the ‘do-it-yourself’ mentality of today’s new and future parents. There are scrapbooking kits available in colors for bouncing baby boys, or beautiful baby girls. Of course, there are also kits that provide unisex colors, in case the parents don’t want to know the sex of the baby just yet.

A scrapbook is the opportunity for you to showcase the parents’ new baby. Baby shower scrapbooks offer an extensive selection of binders and page types galore. Of course there’s always the option of keeping things simple, but options of yellow rubber ducks, pink teddy bears and blue skies, who wouldn’t want a little something extra? Of course, the most important part of starting your scrapbook is choosing the binder that best fits your needs.

To begin, you will need to have at least one page set aside for every two guests. Keep handy a few sets of 4” by 6” index cards which are available in a variety of colors so that your guests can fill each fill out a card with their own words and designs. Don’t forget stickers, photo borders, markers and pencils to add some ‘pop!’ to the pages.

You could also consider having an advice section in your scrapbook. Make sure to use sheets that fit your scrapbook’s binder, and then let everyone write their own advice to the baby for the future. Remember that scrapbooks can literally be made-to-order to fit one’s tastes, so if you’re religious, there are many religious themes that can be use. If the baby is born near or on a holiday, try incorporating that into the book.

With endless possibilities, you can do just about anything. With the colored pages, come matching photo borders that can be cut to fit the size of the photo and simply pasted on. There are a variety of styles, shapes, and sizes that can include anything from clouds to various shapes, and even cartoon characters. This allows you to incorporate your baby’s tastes in toys and colors as they grow and develop through their life. Keep in mind; this book is just as much a memory of you for them as it is of them for you.
