| A baby shower is, of course, a very
special occasion bringing together the individuals that will be
important in the life of the new arrival. One of the elements of
the shower that has the most potential for both creativity and sentimentality
is the cake. From wedding-style tiered masterpieces to homemade
diaper cakes, the possibilities are endless. But, have you considered
the right baby shower sayings for your cake?
For traditional cakes, a sweet and simple saying might be appropriate:
“Congratulations to Anna and baby Regina,” “Good
luck with your new arrival,” “We know you’ll be
a great mommy, Anna,” “Here comes baby Regina,”
etc. Or, you can stick with the most simplest of sentiments: “Good
Luck,” “Congratulations,” “Welcome to Motherhood,”
etc. This will depend on the style and size of the cake, as well
as what you think the mom-to-be will appreciate.
And if you are presenting a diaper cake, which is made of rolled-up
disposable diapers set in tiers and adorned with items for the new
baby, it may seem like you can’t put a saying on it –
it’s not like there’s any place to “write”
or “frost” a message. But you can include a baby shower
saying on your cake, by using a beautifully-decorated card with
large print and taping it right to the top or “front”
of the cake, or else placing it carefully at the base. For this
message, you can use the saying ideas from above, or even a short
verse, such as: “This cake isn’t for cutting / and it
won’t change the numbers on the scale / but it will surely
come in handy / when your newborn starts to wail.”
So, remember – if you’re putting in a lot of effort
to choose a cake that will complement your theme, and match the
tastes of your guests – be sure to take an extra few minutes
and choose a baby shower saying for the cake, too. Those little
details make a lot of difference.
